FYC - Home

Association Free Youth Centre is a non-government and non-profit organization created in 1997 and registered under Bulgarian legislation in social utility.

FYC mission is to support the personal development of the young people in Vidin and Northwestern Bulgaria, as free citizens in a democratic society through involving them in educational programs and activities of social utility.

NEWS

November 5 - 7, 2008 - A campain of elections for Student cousels took place in Vidin high schools in implementation of the "Territory of Participation" project.

October 4-12, 2008 - FYC educated and employed 33 new social assistants for support of children with disabilities, who are living in Vidin municipality.

September 17, 2008 - With an established meeting of the Partner Council, they officialy started implementation of the project "Territory of participation".

September 1-5, 2008 - The Bulgarian - Serbian project"Youth Caravan" visited five populated places in the border region, starting from Vidin and finished in Kustendil. The FYC is a partner in the project implementation of the Open Club - Nish.

May - June, 2008 - The FYC traveling exposition Separate is not Equal visited four cities in NW Bulgaria - Vidin from (26-30.05.), then to Vrasta (03-07.06), Montana (08-12.06), and finished in Lom (09-13.06.). The exposition is now available on-line.

May 31 - June 1, 2008 - The second training about strategic planning of local development was organized by FYC and took place in Montana under the project "Towns, which benefit youth".

April 30, 2008 - FYC organized a round table on the topic "Street children" with participation of key istitutions.

April 24, 2008 - A youth debate "Should we give alms to the begging children" took part in Vidin in framework of FYC campaign. Poster of the campaign [pdf].

April 19-20, 2008 - A training about opportunities for young people provided by European and national programmes was organized by FYC and took place in Montana under the project "Towns, which benefit youth".

April 19, 2008 - FYC organized an excursion in Belogradchik for the children and the volunteers, who are working with them.

April 2008 - The Samaritans experts made an outside evaluation of the FYC project "Centre for Social and Educational Assistance". Full text of the evaluation report [word, in Bulgarian].

April 03, 2008 - The Bulgarian National Television shooted a reportage about volunteering in FYC.

March 22-26, 2008 - Serbian youth, together with their peers from FYC, implemented a public campaign in Vidin in the framework of the joint project "Europe without borders".

March 12, 2008 - US Ambassador Mr. John Beyrle was a guest of the Free Youth Centre. Photos from the meeting.

February 29, 2008 - With a "TV quiz" and theatre play the children and volunteers joinlty celebrate the Bulgarian national hollyday.

January 25-31, 2008 - The project Cities, which benefit youth was presented before young people of towns of Berkovitsa, Kula and Lom.

December 2007 - FYC organized Christmas parties for the "Nov pat" children and for begging children.

December 12, 2007 - In FYC office took part the regular meeting of the Expert Council of the project Centre for Social and Educational Assistance.

November 29, 2007 - FYC officialy opened the Centre for Social and Educational Assistance in Roma neighborhood of Vidin.

October, 30 - November, 4 - FYC volunteers visited Nish, Serbia in the frames of the project "Europe without borders".

October, 20 - FYC organized a trip to Magura cave for the children and the volunteers.

September 2007 - Every day the FYC volunteers devote some of their time to the children at risk.

July 2007 - During the summer months a training for new FYC volunteers was implemented.

9-14 July 2007 - Samaritans association implemented a training in Vidin on the topic "Individual and group social work" under a project of FYC.

July 2-4, 2007 - The FYC team was on a study visit in the Social Home "Faith, Hope, Love" - Sofia.

June 29 - July 1, 2007 - A training in social work with communities hold by Samaritans association - Stara Zagora under a FYC project.

June 28, 2007 - On a meeting of the Expert Council the list of beneficiaries of the Centre for Social and Educational Assistance was adopted.

June, 01 2007 - The FYC organized second edition of the Mini Music Idol 2007 in Roma neibourhood of Vidin on the International Cildren's Day.

May, 7-14 2007 - The FYC volunteers participated in a youth exchange in Krakow, Poland on the topic "European Ambassadors".

April 25-27, 2007 - In Debrecen, Hungary took place the conclusion conference of the project "European Identities".

April 17, 2007 - A meeting of the Expert Council for the problems of the street children and school drop outs took place in the FYC office.

April 14, 2007 - FYC organized a picnic in Bozhuritsa for the Roma children and the volunteers, who are working with them.

April 06, 2007 - The New Pat children saw off with a concert Paolo Proserpio, whose voluntary service at FYC had finished.

April 01, 2007 - Ms. Linda Gerezhniece from Latvia started her voluntary service at FYC.

February 23, 2007- A public datable about "Old Europe" labor market obstacles for Bulgarians take place in Vidin by initiative of the Educational Inspectorate in partnership with FYC.

January 2007- Every Saturday the FYC volunteers meet their younger "brothers and sisters" to help motivate them to stay in school and to build the bridges of tolerance between ethnicities.

January, 01 2007 - Bulgaria has become a member of the European Union!
