November 20, World Children's Day

01.11.2021 On November 20, to mark the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, we celebrate the World Children's Day.

On 14 December 1954, the UN General Assembly called on countries around the world (Resolution 836, IX) to organize, beginning in 1956, an annual event, Universal Children's Day, a day dedicated to children around the world, a day through which children's rights are promoted and celebrated. Five years later, on November 20, 1959, the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration on the Rights of the Child, which defines the rights of the child to protection, education, health care, shelter and adequate nutrition. On the same date, in 1989, the UN General Assembly adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
