The center was opened in 2008 with the financial support of the Social Assistance Fund of the Ekaterina Karavelova Women Association. As of June 2011, the service is a state delegated activity, provided for management of the association by the Municipality of Silistra. The Center is housed in a two-storey multifunctional building in the central part of the city. It is located in an office owned by the Women's Association "Ekaterina Karavelova". The rooms are equipped with the necessary equipment and furniture for working with the users - individual and group therapy, consultancy, training activities. The Center has a capacity of 20 seats and offers a range of social services for children at risk and their families. Main objectives and principles of work are to ensure the best interest of the child, to help the child to enter the social environment, to provide opportunities for the full development of children's potential according to their needs and opportunities, to inform and target other social services in the community, providing services to support the families of children at risk, raising parental capacity, promoting responsible parenting, etc.
